Attack on Titan: Before the Fall

進撃の巨人 Before the fall

Synopsis

Long before the events of Attack on Titan, humanity already lives behind its great walls, and most people have grown comfortable there. When a cult that worships the Titans opens a gate, the creature that walks in leaves behind a horror: a woman it devoured, and inside her a baby who is still alive. The child, Kuklo, grows up treated as a monster and a curiosity, locked away and shown to paying crowds as the Titan's Son. When he finally escapes, he finds an unlikely ally in Sharle Inocencio, a girl from a noble family who sees a person where everyone else sees a freak. Together they are drawn toward the one question nobody inside the walls dares to ask: how can a human being fight back? Adapted from Ryo Suzukaze's novels and drawn by Satoshi Shiki, Before the Fall follows the first, dangerous experiments that lead to the equipment the Survey Corps will one day carry. It is a darker, grittier corner of Hajime Isayama's world, built around a hero shaped by rejection.
