Where it goes
Today almost everything runs on free plans that stop when they are full, not bills. More readers means outgrowing them; support is what pays for the next step up.
The site itself
The servers that build every page. The free plan pauses the site at its monthly limit.
Every page you read
Chapter images are stored and served from a fast image host, free up to a limit.
Sign-in links, password resets and moderation decisions, free up to 100 a day.
The address
mangaden.com itself, the one bill the site has today.
Other ways to help
Money is only one of them, and not the most important.
Upload a comic you may share
Your own work, or one whose licence allows it. More stories bring more readers.
Start or join a group
Translate and credit chapters together, and give readers a name to follow.
Rate and keep what you read
Ratings and libraries are how the next reader finds a good series.
Tell us what is wrong
A missing page, a wrong title, a comic that should not be here: the flag on any series or chapter reaches us.
Tell a friend
A link sent to one person who likes comics does more than anything on this page.
Questions
Do supporters get anything extra?
Not today: everyone reads the same site, with nothing held back. Support keeps it that way for everybody.
Who handles the payment?
Ko-fi, with a card or PayPal. MangaDen never sees your payment details, and Ko-fi takes nothing from one-off donations.
Will MangaDen show ads?
Not today. Donations are how we would rather keep it that way; if that ever changes, it will be said here first, and never inside the pages you read.
Is the content legal?
Yes. Comics hosted here are public domain or under licences that allow sharing, uploaded with a source; the rules say exactly what that means. Licensed manga are never hosted: their page here holds facts, our own description and the publisher's credited cover, and opens the chapters on the publisher's own site.
