Beauty and the Feast

After losing her husband, Shuko Yakumo has little enthusiasm for the meals she once loved to make. Her new neighbor, high school baseball player Shohei Yamato, lives alone and has an appetite that seems impossible to satisfy. Cooking for him gives Shuko an unexpected reason to return to her kitchen. One generous serving leads to another as feeding a hungry athlete becomes part of her daily routine. Through home cooking, baseball demands and the companionship of a shared table, the story follows a grieving woman rediscovering purpose in small, practical acts of care.
