Synopsis
In Hinase's world, children begin developing toward the gender they want around the age of twelve, and the change is usually complete within a few years. Hinase is approaching eighteen without having changed at all. A life they have accepted on their own terms becomes more complicated when two close friends confess romantic feelings, each offering a different picture of a possible future. Also published in English as Just Like Mona Lisa, this coming-of-age drama explores affection, identity and the pressure to make choices other people consider inevitable. As familiar friendships shift, Hinase must think about what they want without allowing someone else's expectations to become the only answer.
