Space Battleship Yamato

By 2199, alien bombardment has made Earth's surface poisonous and driven its survivors underground. A distant world offers a possible means of restoring the planet, but reaching it requires an expedition across hostile space. The rebuilt battleship Yamato sets out carrying the remaining hope of humanity. Leiji Matsumoto's manga follows a crew whose mission is measured against Earth's dwindling time. Battles, losses and encounters beyond the solar system give the voyage its scale, while the people aboard must decide what they are willing to risk for a home they may never see again.
